Website for NSI – Norsk Stanseindustri
In collaboration with Designo we developed a new website for NSI (Norsk Stanseindustri), one of Norway's largest manufacturers of sheet metal products. The new website is built on Craft CMS as its publishing solution.
Who is NSI (Norsk Stanseindustri)?
Over more than 30 years, NSI has grown from a small stamping factory into one of Norway's largest manufacturers of sheet metal products. Their factory is at Skedsmokorset, and today they employ more than 30 people delivering Norwegian-made quality products at competitive prices.
Challenges and goals for the new website
NSI's particular challenge was large numbers of private customers getting in touch, despite NSI's target audience being businesses. The website also had an unhelpful structure, cluttered content and information flow, and too much focus on individual products rather than the whole of what NSI offers within steel production – both off-the-shelf and fully tailored solutions for specific industries and needs.
The technical setup behind the new website
The website is built on a purpose-made design system, implemented with Tailwind CSS. The publishing system behind it is Craft CMS.
SEO is handled via a plugin called SEOmatic, recognised as an industry-leading SEO publishing tool. Redirects from the old URL structure are handled directly inside the publishing solution, and were of course taken care of in the transition from the previous website, so all accumulated link value carried over rather than being lost.
Hosting is with Digital Ocean, on a server in the EU (Amsterdam) running on 100% renewable energy. The server is provisioned via Laravel Forge.
Designo delivered the updated visual profile, and carried out photo shoots and video so the whole visual impression was lifted considerably on the new website.
